62 Battery heat shield?

62 Battery heat shield?
Continuing work on a 62 project and noted that there is a heat shield attached to the top hold down kit for the battery. My project did not have the hold down bracket. I ordered a replacement. As with all good ideas, there was a problem, it would not fit over the new "replacement" battery. Battery just a little too long. The owner does not want to buy a new battery so I am looking for options. I can fabricate a hold down bracket but have any of you come up with a "heat shield" option?

How much is it off? I had to grind down the sides on the opt of my battery to get the heat shield to fit. There were tabs sticking out where the newer style hold downs attached. I simply took a grinder and shaved off the tabs. Now, this was an interstate battery.
