Heck of a transformation. This '64 will be a great driver when you're done. You did a really nice job with the upgrades. I look forward to seeing it on the ground with the wheels/tires.

Hi Greg; just picked up this thread; great car to start with, some nice and sensible upgrades that haven't detracted from the unique design cachet attached to these cars - interested to see how the interior turns out, great colour combo ; navy exterior / white interior - aesthetically, wheels and stance will be important, handling performance will be everything - Regards GV

Thanks very much.....its taken longer than I anticipated, but I've purposely been going slow and making sure things are done "correctly". I'm also very particular about the aesthetics of things like brake line routing, fittings, brackets, and wiring so the front brakes took longer than anticipated. Finding a way to route and support the new lines without drilling any holes was a challenge. The nutsert was key as it allowed me to mount brackets to unthreaded holes in the frame, and if I ever decide to go back to stock, I can drill out the nutsert and be back to a 100% original frame.

Unfortunately, I'm headed back to the desert for 8-ish weeks, so I won't get the car on the ground until then. Hopefully that allows Coker Tire/Vintage Wheel Works/PS Engineering to sort out their merger/acquisition and start shipping wheels again. I placed my order the week after Thanksgiving. If I don't have anything by the time I get home, Ill have to start looking for option #2.

I have a rough mounting bracket tacked together for the seats at the moment. After a few more tweaks, Ill take it down to a local place called "Metal Concepts" that does a lot of metal sculptures, interior design stuff, etc, and have them weld up two nice copies in 3/16 steel that will be ready to prime, paint and install. My fabric also just arrived, so I need to send the seats out to have the inserts redone. My '69 steering wheel is also out getting 1/8 inch padding added and wrapped in black leather on the Tom's suggestion a few posts back.

She's getting close....

Hi Greg - The interior looks fantastic; very lucky to have chanced on navy blue exterior and white interior; great combo, regarding the checked insert, not sure if you'd want to do the whole panel or just a stripe down the middle - Regards GV

Awesome Glen! I have been tempted to use that Remaster master cylinder. Trying to figure out if I can modify my stock brake lines easily to work with it. Are you using the proportioning valve as well? Love the way it mounts under the master. Love following your build!

Does 1964 Daytona Blue paint come in different color shades?

I noticed looking at C2 Corvettes on-line that Daytona Blue look from almost Black to a Dark Blue in color?

Not using the available prop valve due to the caliper choice. The Wilwood D8's maintain the factory brake bias so its shouldn't bee needed. If I find that to no be the case, I will order the prop valve.

'63-'64 Daytona blue is all the same. It changes drastically based on lighting conditions. In low light/overcast, you are correct, it looks almost black. In directly sunlight, it has a very nice navy blue color with some metallic in it. My favorite automotive color of all time, just ahead of British Racing Green.

I love the idea, Greg, just like the old Porsche in your picture. If you google Porsche tartan seats, you get a bunch of options, although some are truly what we’re they thinking moments!

You're absolutely correct, some of those cars are absolutely out of control. Thats why I tried to find a tartan that was simple, and only two colors, navy and white, in order to keep the interior classy, and vintage European without being "busy". My wife chose 3 different fabric samples from the web, and my favorite I actually ended up using as a liner in my leather jacket, but the navy and white Tartan was the clear choice for the seats.

Bourbon. Of course, bourbon. That's it exactly. All good now. I'm done.
