Default 1963 glove box frame difference

Does anyone have pics showing the difference of a 63 glove box frame and reinforcement to a 64-67 one?

Early 63s didn't have the reinforcement. That was added sometime during the year. That is why you see so many cracked 63 glove box doors.

I have pics of the 63 reinforcement rod at home if nobody else has it. My May 63! car has that piece.

LICS part number 13-11C 63-only (can't find my pic this is theirs); the notes indicated its item 17 in the AIM graphic...

A "must have" IMO if you don't want to crack the glove box door

The door itself is also different between early and late cars.

Early cars use the "keyhole" lock which is recessed into the door.

Later cars use the half dollar sized bezel.

Here's a pic of an early door with the lock recessed into the keyhole-like depression.

(forget/disregard the extra rivets)

Nice!

Don't people believe in epoxy any more ?
My glove box got a 'face lift' 14 months ago..

Also the back of the door is not painted - natural surface -- I had to strip mine...

Thanks guys. Anyone know the difference in the actual glovebox frame(the metal surround) itself?

I believe they're all the same... regardless of the door configuration and/or the presence/absence of the extra support.

The brace connecting the glovebox frame to the Z bar is different. I think the 64-67 has a half moon cutout and the bolt pattern is slightly different.

You can see the cutout on this brace and can tell the bolt spacing is slightly closer on the cutout side.
