Does anybody else's rear view mirror vibrate, when I give it gas at highway speeds it starts vibrating, and I can't see anything but a blur. My side mirror is perfect. Ian
The only time I have had this happen was when the car itself had a vibration. Either the mirror is loose or, you have some sort of issue with the car which, can be a PITA to diagnose.
Going by what little info you've posted, it sounds as though it MAY be drivetrain related.
I have the exact same problem with my 63. Just returned from a 600 mi round trip. Windshield mirror vibrates at hi way speed but the side mirror is perfectly steady. Don't understand one vibrating and the other not.
Unless both mirrors are loose (as mentioned earlier) you and, the OP, MUST be feeling some sort of vibration elsewhere such as at the steering wheel, pedals, shifter (excluding 4th gear buzz) floor panels, etc.
The side mirror, unless loose, usually won't vibrate. The only time I have had my inside rear view mirror vibrate to the point that I couldn't see was due to (in my case) several different drive train issues.

Thanks guys. The outside mirror being bolted to the door does provides some isolation from the frame/ drivetrain. Car drove amazingly smooth on this recent long highway trip. I'll start with tire rotation and balance.
