Nose emblem speed nuts
Two of the three metal pins on my trim ring broke off, so I purchased a new nose emblem kit from Corvette Central. It includes a new gold nose emblem, new trim ring, rubber gasket, backing dish and three speed nuts.
Anyone know what tool is used to put these speed nuts onto the trim ring. Previously I used the hex type speed nuts and socket. A socket appears like it will not work with the new speed nuts...
These are the original type which GM used in 1960. The hex speed nuts will not fit the pin of the new trim ring as the pins are quite a bit thicker. The older one was quite worn.
Cheers & many thanks...

I must be neurotic because I take a hobby die set and thread the posts carefully and use like nylon little nuts!

If you look on line at the Corvette Central parts there is a spot that says More.
Hit that mark and it shows you extra tools and parts to complete the job
the part you need is 341001. Tool to install nuts.

Those in the photos are not what GM originally used. The original speed nuts were stamped hat section with a 5/16" 3/8" hex. The plant also packed some dum-dum into the hat section as a water seal. Look at the AIM.
They self threaded onto the stud. I can't imagine they are not available today, as they were widely used across all GM product lines.
