Default 1965 Fuel lines

I read that a '65 L78 has a 5/16" fuel line and then measured my old coupe which is a former L78 (now has a 327). It is 5/16." My question is what size line would be on a small block car as 5/16" does not look like an especially large fuel line ? Thanks.

No, the steel fuel line is cut off as it enters the engine compartment. From there on it is rubber hose.

Not a lot of orig parts under the hood. But does have battery behind left front fender, rear anti roll bar, and 7/8" front anti roll bar. (Also there is no air cond vent abv clock that would indicate small block a/c car.)

See here https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-corvette.html and this quote is from JohnZ which means you can take it to the bank
"ALL Corvettes from '57-up had 3/8" main fuel lines from the tank to the pump, regardless of engine size."

I must have bumped the calipers when I measured it the first time as I need to reach down by the firewall to measure what remains of the steel line. I measured again and got 3/8." Sorry for the confusion !
