The sheet metal used from 1958-1961 is pressed anodized aluminum. Patterns vary but it's aluminum... The issue is the anodized coating on the outside is something that can and will scratch. Getting those scratches out are next to impossible. The anodized coating is very hard and not easy to polish either.
