Well, the engine was assembled in the Flint plant on December 11th, but we don't know what year.

The NastyZ28 site lists 3 different applications of the EB code:

1. 1957 283 Hipo in a full size Chevy
2. 1958 283 4bbl in a truck
3, 1965 327 300 hp in a Chevelle

Absent more details like block casting #, casting date, VIN, etc, it is tough to tell which it is.

Lots of possibilities, the casting number and date code on the block will help determine which

EB - 1957 283, 270hp, manual trans, in a passenger car
EB - 1959-1961 283, 230hp, 4bbl, Turboglide in a pass car
EB - 1965-1967 327 , 275hp, 4bbl, AIR, manual trans in a CHevelle or El Camino

We can already eliminate the 1967, because the engine plant code changed from F to V in 1967.
