Restoration Battery
I just tried calling Restoration battery to order a new battery for one of my cars. To my surprise I got their answer machine which said they were no longer accepting new orders. Does anyone know if they are closing up shop or what?
Anyone know of another company that sells correct repro batteries?
Thanks,
Dave

I ordered a battery from them a few weeks ago for my '67 Corvette. They indicated that they were 6 weeks behind in filling orders due to demand and the manufacture was updating their facility. During our conversation he indicated that they were preparing to stop taking orders until they caught up.
I don't know of any other supplier of restoration batteries.

They are not a manufacturer. They merely sell the same battery as everyone else and are a dealer. Try calling the manufacturer, which is Antique Auto battery. Maybe you can be put ahead a little. But my guess is Antique is swamped and having a hard time filling their dealers like Restoration, Paragon, Corvette Central etc. I used to be a dealer for them, and they get backlog during summer because every old car brand needs batteries, not just GM.

I bought a battery for my 66 and it's always taken a charge and performed great for 3 years now. But some cracks started forming on top of the plastic top (non tar type). It's not leaking, but I didn't expect this issue.
