Photobucket is shutting down free 3rd party picture hosting
In case you have not heard this, apparently Photobucket now wants $400 a year to host pictures for use on forums with IMG links.
I'm hearing many people's links to pics are being broken, but not all. Just a heads-up to everyone. There's still a few different ways to [post pics here, though.

My pics still post for some reason I cant explain:

Ya, I just got the email notice from them, and as a result, ALLLLLLLLLL the pictures that I've posted in the past, here and on other forums, are now disabled.
SOOOOOOOOOOO, what is our option for posting pictures?

I gave up on Photobucket awhile ago when their site got so slow.
Now I just post my pics as attachments.

Here's a couple quick instructions for people. Please no comments on the quick photos I just took to provide help... we can do this pretty later.
2 easy ways when you have your photos stored on your own computer. First: when you bring up the dialog box to make a post, click on the "paperclip" icon. (First picture.)
Then a list of boxes will show. Click "browse" (Second picture) and enter as many pics as you like. Click upload. WAIT for the box to show the uploaded files at the bottom and enter the post.

I'm going to download all my PB pics to an external hard drive and delete my account. I'm tired of jacking with them.

Next pic shows pics selected and note at bottom telling you they are being uploaded. Bottom pic shows what they look like when uploaded. Then post.

Another method is to again bring up your posting dialog box and click on the "Insert Image" icon. (first pic).
Then it brings up a page where you can select your link. (second picture).
Hope this helps.

This is why, after 40 years in IT, I've never had ANYthing hosted on a "cloud" or somebody's third party servers.

I got the same info from PB. Over the years I had to delete a lot of picture because of limited space and didn't feel like paying anything additional.
I have been using Flickr for about 6 years now and really pleased with it.
No charge on 1TB of space. It works a lot faster then PB. You can copy and paste and it will post pictures on Corvette Forum.

I apparently bumped up against my free space allotment last year and my albums were seized and locked by Photobucket and held for ransom. I did download a copy of all photos out of it to a remote hard drive eventually but I was afraid that eventually they would break all the links to posts and threads I had posted in. So I paid their ransom demand and purchased the minimum additional space for something like $17 a year. So far my account hasn't been disrupted yet - but it must be only a matter or time before it is. What a bunch of crooks.

testing, testing, 1, 2, 3...
Still seems to work for me.
However, I agree with all the negative sentiment against photobucket. I'll be looking for an alternative.

That's a 409 with Borg Warner aftermarket fuel injection. That "thing" is the drive belt (or maybe drive chain..... don't remember) for the pump.
Obviously incomplete when that picture was made, the owner has made the whole contraption work. I've seen a video of the running engine and it sounds nasty.

Bring up the picture you want to post.
At the bottom right of the picture there will be a curved arrow pointing right.
Click on the arrow, it will bring up the BBCode.
Right click on the code, select copy, then paste it .
Too easy. And no ads.
