Default 1963 Hood Grills/Inserts

I have '63 hood inserts that have been improperly paint touched-up.
Anyone have any experience with the current repro 1963 hood grills on the market?

Do you still need to "bend" a repro to have it fit the hood shape?

Thank you for your input.

Repaint the originals ??
Why would you spend money on expensive, less-well-fitting repros ?

But, to the point, the grills are held on with studs and speed nuts and ALSO glued down...that should take care of any "bending". Original grills will have a black "figure-8" of adhesive on the back when removed...

It's an hour to paint them if you use the paint rub-off method. 5 hours If you tape the cross-hatched ribs then spray.

They're in decent shape. I'll try the repaint.
Thanks.
