Thanks Saddletan! I appreciate it. Since this is the measurement on the 63-67, I am still out in the cold. The holes for my rack are 41 1/2 across.

I seem to remember that rack in the old Anco catalogs I don't think the dealer accessory racks mounted to the bumper. The only midyear I've owned with a dealer rack was a coupe and only a mother could like that rack. I also remember seeing racks with the curves in the two center bars , don't remember what they were on.

Attached are a few pictures of my unrestored (except one repaint) '65 Corvette coupe with dealer installed luggage rack. Also are the instruction that came with the car on how to install the rack on a C2, sorry, there are/were no exact measurements.

Regards,

James West

Whoa, there are some ugly racks out there! How did owners put some of those racks on their beautiful cars? They must've been driving them a lot on road trips and needed the suitcase space. That is the ONLY reason I can think of... thanks much! I hope to go to Carlisle in August. Maybe I will learn (and buy?) something there. But I'm not going to ugly up my Vette...

JMHO racks look better on C3's than C2's if I had to deal with this dilemma I'd find a rack that fit the existing holes, store it and put some kind of plugs in the holes maybe painted maybe chrome. Good Luck.

I took my rack off and put it in storage. Filled the holes with chrome plugs.
