Default Speedometer Cable Retaining Clips???

Just replacing my exhaust system and I found that my speedometer cable has been hitting my RIGHT side exhaust pipe. It IS CLIPPED to the mid firewall but I can't seen any clip or possible area where a clip WAS around the lower cable area to keep the cable away from the pipe. The 66' Assembly Manual shows a clip in this lower cable area but isn't detailed/clear enough to tell HOW it's clipped and to WHAT. Any information on type of clip/retainer and it's location would be greatly appreciated. This is on a one owner 66', 4 speed, convertible. The speedometer cable is the original. THANKS for your question review and advice.

I just wire tied mine to the rear splash shield bracket on the passenger side.

The clip is riveted to the transmission tunnel and is the same as the ones that are riveted to the underside of your hood opening just above the firewall that retain your hood unlatch bowden wire. You buck the rivet from inside the car by pulling up the carpet.

Found the rusted remains of the lower retaining clip "UNDER "the insulation in the transmission tunnel. THANK YOU.
