gas tank
Has anyone shipped a gas tank? Need to know if shipping is cost prohibitive. I did some online shipping estimates, fedex, ups, and guesstimating size and weight, it was very costly.

Local repair and a rubber liner may be cheaper. Race cars all run a rubber bladder to take the job over when the tank gets bent.

A couple months back somebody on here offered a used one free, you pay the shipping. When I looked into it I found brand new ones could be had for not terribly more. It was a generous offer but just not worth it for me. Not trying to screw up anybody's sale here, but do your homework on what the FULL cost to you will be as compared to a new one. (Prices on new ones were all over the map BTW).

I went to UPS with a package and they refused it at first because they said it smelled like gas. It was a compressor and there was no gas. Must have been the cardboard, but it took a while for me to convince them that the package did not contain any thing that once had gasoline in it.
