Default Headlight (nose) support rods..

Somebody stated in a recent thread that the thin support rods are marked "L" and "R" and I've never noticed that. Does anyone have pictures of the markings and are these the same throughout the midyear generation ?

Some sites don't include 63/64 in their repro offerings...

I believed the rod length changed in 66-67 with the different core support angle.

I don't ever remember a R or L on the rod, you can't install them backward.

Yes they are. At least on 64 and 65 they are, and likely 63. Don't know about later than that.
The R can barely be discerned on outside aspect about 1" below the eyelet here.

A bit of an interesting comparison between VERY LATE, original 63 nose support rod and a 63-65 repro... Hmm..

The "R" is on the 'wrong' side of the piece and upside down from an original...
The "L" is too precisely formed but on the correct side.. The repro ends with the captured not are elongated from the original as well.

The small icon on the repro is nothing like the original either.

Can anyone confirm the length difference between the early and late cars?
I may have the wrong ones....

I cannot...I only have the original late 63 and the borrowed 63-65 repros for a quick comparison... Maybe someone else can...

Default Where the bolt?

As I look at the photos I'm wondering if these rod can be installed if the headlight buckets are already installed. Dose not look like there would be room to put the bolt in place. Or I may be looking at it wrong.

Thanks

they can be installed after the headlights are installed. You may have to pull up on front and get the Bolt in. If you don't have a bottom bolt already installed you'll have to raise the Radiator to get it in

On a 63 you will have to remove the headlight bezel ad then there is room for the bolt to come out.
