Don't know if NCRS deducts but would bet they would if it was noticeable. I painted my engine block in 2001 when I had the engine out and other than a couple oil spots, it still looks great.

Clear coat ion engine?
My 300HP is soon to be rebuilt and I'm wondering about putting a clear coat on it. Has anyone else had this done and does NCRS dock points it? Pros and cons?

Most get a deduct on engine paint anyways for being to perfect and shiny. I can only for see problems with yellowing and the clear failing over time

I check my paperwork and there were no deduction during both NCRS Top Flight and none during Bloomington Gold. Car was restored by NCRS judge if interested I can provide you with his name and phone number.
