Thanks guys, I did not enlarge the holes, but I do need to adjust the Y stops, which will be easier with the hood off. I will take some better pictures, in the heat of battle the camera gets left behind. The final work will be this weekend. New carb gets here tomorrow. Ian

Good deal Ian!

Remember to mark the hinge plate locations on your hood, and have a buddy help you. Blue tape too of course.

On my cars the hood alignment has been as big a PITA as the buckets, so those hoods are on there to stay.

The hood removal is a one man operation. I've done it several times. And yes, mark location of hinges. Now everyone is different. I'm an old guy so leaning over the front nose and working with hood on killed my back. What puzzles me is he got them 95 percent perfect with hood on so why would he need for hood to come off.

I guess I don't understand what more the OP is trying to achieve...the front of the buckets match the nose ridgeline nicely, the transition a the hood at the rear of the buckets is nice, the gaps look even all the way around. At some point you reach 'diminishing returns' that'll have you making things worse, not better.

The problem I am having is adjusting the y stops it's a pain to do with the good on. I am happy with the alignment, but the Y stop and motor speed is not good.

If the buckets swing freely then the motor speed is a whole other issue and prob internal to the motors....

The good news is that rebuilding the motors is a lot easier than adjusting the buckets.

Friday night fun, removed the hood, this was a much easier task with my friend helping, we then removed the motors, the y stops on both sides we're not exactly tight, so tightened them first, next we adjusted the stops, the toughest part was putting the motors back on, getting them Aligned, then checked up and down. Doing this job without the hood off would be a super pain. Thanks for everyone's input. Next job drivers side door panel which is a pain to remove those clips. Ian
