Default 1954 trunk latch problem

I am missing the part under my trunk lid that the catch or striker attaches to . I can not find it on the internet or in any catalog. The part number in the assembly manual is 3706692. Looks like it is a fiberglass panel maybe riveted to the inner panel on the underside of the trunk. Does anyone know where I can get this aftermarket? Or a used one? Or does anyone have a junk lid that it might still be on?

Call Carol at Grossmueller's. It's possible they may have a piece from a lid that came out of a car that was wrecked.

Vette Daddy - Brett Henderson makes them - He has a mold
He can make one and ship it to you
I have installed three of them that he makes
They are bonded on and riveted in
53's are riveted differently than 54's

That's what I did. Ordered a latch support from Brett then riveted it in place. There is a metal back plate with threaded holes that allow you to attach the latch to the support. Turned out great.
