Does your "correct" spare tire lock key have a 'B' stamp on the blade? '67 only original configuration is 'A' stamp octagon doors & ignition, 'B' stamp oval glove box & spare tire lock. If so, perhaps your lock assembly is from different model/model year.

Does that key work in the glove box? Does it work in the ignition? If it works in the glove box it's the correct key unless the lock has been changed. If that key works in the ignition then it's the wrong key
