Looking for help with matching numbers on my dads C1 I inherited from his passing.
Hi everyone, I'm in need of help from the numbers I pulled off of my 1959 Chevrolet Corvette. I have a list and I have done done research, but I'm so confused. I'm hoping I have the numbers correct.
6749627
59 B
12 2
3742888020 chassis
6850583
3746829
D139
FIBIN0BDE
18436572
J59S107249
8-3849852
really not sure about the read on the letters and numbers if the FIBIN0BDE i may have to get someone to help me get it correct. Keep in mind I know nothing about cars and a woman and I'm learning these things because I feel like my dad loved all his cars and would want us to take an interest in them.

When you list a number list what part of the car it came from. D139 is April 13, 1959 and 59B is February 1959.

Where are you located (city and state)? There are very knowledgeable Corvette people all over the country.
Once we understand where you are, I'm sure we can point you at some good Corvette people.

Nice car! Sorry about your Dad.
Not everybody cares about "matching numbers." But the people with whom this concept is most closely identified are the National Corvette Restorers Society (NCRS). They can tell you more about this than you might want to know. It's an international organization. There's a Louisiana chapter. See:

"Matching numbers" is an abused concept. Yeah, it ought to be straightforward. But, in practice, it's not. Especially when the phrase is used in an ad for a car for sale.
If you're interested in how original your car is, then NCRS is something you want to look into.

59's didn't have vin #s on the engine, so the best you can hope for is date codes aligning. It really honestly shouldn't matter if it runs well and you drive the car. If you want to sell it as an all original car and ask more money, then more info is probably better. Not to me, I prefer condition and functionality, but if it's coded correctly I don't mind that either. I hope you decide to enjoy it as it is, no matter how the dates line up.

Look for a stamp pad on your engine block that looks like this and let us know the letters / numbers:
