Default Gen light on after replacing alternator

So I changed out the generator to an alternator/regulator combo. I recently changed over to an alternator with built in regulator. Now gen light is on.

Corvettes never had indicator lights. Just gauges. Have you checked the battery and alt with a volt meter while the engine is running

The green light would be your turn signal. If that is on then you should be looking for a short.

There is a flashing BRAKE indicator light if you have that option and a HIGH BEAM indicator light and left/right turn signal indicator lights -- that is all THERE IS. I drove a '61 original car with a generator for 10 years. You get a gauge, nothing but the gauge, and only the gauge.

Post a picture of that light. There should be two lights on the dash that say anything. The one on the left says brake the one on the right says beam (for high beam on).
