ebay lists L79 motor from $1000 for a bare block to $2500 for short blocks and $5000 and up for long blocks, not that anyone is buying them for those prices, they've been listed for quite a while

If it was mine, if it was a "real" one, if it was sound mechanically and if it was complete, as in carburetor/pan, fan/flywheel, it'd take at least $3,000 to get it away from me. Maybe more. Probably more.
