Default 63 Expansion Tank/Heater Hose Routing

Just wrapping up a clean up of my engine compartment. Wanted to replace all hoses. The one hose that I'm having a difficult time with is the small feeder hose that goes from the tank to the "T" how long should it be? Also I've heard the the "T" should be placed at approximately 45 degrees to allow clearance for the header hoses over the battery tray... am I way off here....

Thanking all in advance

Tee on a 45* angle.
