Corvette 283 vin help
I have a 283 corvette engine,Possibly? Heads are 3755550 castings dated 1958 with no tapped holes in the end,water pump,intake,carburetor all check out as 327 corvette but block vin is passenger car.I picked this engine up at an auction.people claim that it was in barn for 40 years.any thoughts or info?

What are the block casting numbers, date, and numbers on the front pad?

It seems all SBC that were removed came from a Corvette. But truthfully he same block, heads and other parts were used on passinger cars and truck. There was no vin stamped on the block in Corvettes until mid 1960 production. And not on ALL engines until 1968 model year. Only the suffix code broke down to what car or truck it was used in
