You guys do realize that Chevrolet P&A books of various years of that era reflect the sleeve part # is different than that sketch. Various parts books show the sleeve part # as 3866271.

I always thought that there were two different length sleeves used in this application but can't find anything to back that up.

I would have no interest in this issue except I remember standing across the parts counter in 1963 at the dealership parts manager talking about the same issue. We didn't resolve it then (or did we?) and apparently, it's still a mystery.

I'm thinking the longer sleeve went away when the shorter one was released.
