I have a 1965 Vert with NOM. Has factory A/C. No PS or PB
350 Block
Fuelie 461 Heads
Intake now is old torker and Holley 4777. The torker has a hairline crack. Would like to replace the Torker but wondering what others are running given the hood clearance.
Thought about the E. Performer but it does not really fit well with the holley 4777 due to the rear vacumn port needed for a/c and also has what seems to have interference with the front heater hose connector and the dual feed for the holley.
Also the possibility of hood clearance.
I am sure there are many combinations out there so hopefully I can get some recommendations.
The Torker is not well suited for street use. Remove it, sell it! The Edelbrock Performer intake fits perfectly and when mated to a Holley 2818 makes a very steerable combination. You might need to have a "drop base" air cleaner. Other CF members may add to this. Dennis

That Torker and 650 double pumper are a terrible street combination. A 2101 Performer and a vacuum secondary carb. in the 600-660 CFM range would be FAR superior.
I went with the Edelbrock 2703 EPS intake manifold topped off with a QF Slayer 600 cfm carb . .. The 2703 intake manifold comes with a supplied oil fill tube and breather cap. A replacement factory style oil fill tube was ordered from LICS to keep the stock PCV system intact. The 2101 Performer has a boss that can be drilled out to accept an oil fill tube.
Performance wise, I've been happy with 2703/Slayer combo. The 2703 carb mounting pad height is slightly higher than the 2101 Performer manifold, by a 1/4 inch. Hood clearance is an issue with the 2703 under a stock hood. The aftermarket drop base air cleaner in use on my engine wasn't deep enough to allow a 3 inch tall air filter to clear the underside of the hood. A 2 inch tall air filter was substituted instead, but this choked down the air flow gap between carb air inlet and air filter top lid too much. The top lid was modified to accept more filter media.
My understanding is that an L-79 drop base air cleaner assembly with 3 inch tall air filter may/could work with this intake/carb combo. Maybe someone can verify.
