Looking to ID this housing in my 62. I’m guessing it’s out of a passenger car. Thanks

Doesn't show up in my 1971 gm corvette parts book (P&A30B).

It's a casting number and likely will not correlate to a part number for a particular application.

Does that date code say C 4 3, as in March 4th, 1963?

That case is a NON-POSI case, which was used on 57-62 Vettes and 57-64 pass cars. The date is very difficult to determine, but if it is C 4 3, then for a FACT, it came from a 63 pass car. Although, if it is C 4 2, then it very well could have come from a Corvette -------------------- PROVIDED--------------the stamped code on the OTHER SIDE of the case is correct for a 62 Corvette.
That rear was made at the Detroit Gear and Axle plant, and Corvettes ONLY got rears from the Detroit plant.
