Default Don't replace those seatback covers.

Hi guys,

I had a great repair today. Both of my seatback covers where dented so I thought let's try to fix it with some heat. Turned out to be easier than I thought. Pulled the seats, unscrewed both pivot screws, pulled the seatbacks off, then unscrew the 6 screws in the chrome bars on the side of the seatbacks and the rear cover pops right off.

Then pick your ordinary hairdryder heat the inside at the dent and after a minute of heating pop it back. Works great!

Took some pics of the second one I did.

Finished result.

Pretty common sense repair but thought it was handy to share

Thanks guys I was pretty proud of it . It's nice when every now and then a repair turns out easier than expected

If it weren't from a forum member I'd say the before and after shots were Photoshopped... Nice, easy fix!

Well done! It’s not often something is fixed easily or cheaply when it relates to the interior bits!

Is the weather turning nasty there now?

Again, looks great!

thanks!

and yeah the weather turned nasty here about a month ago, the upside of that is that it leaves me time to make the car even better for next summer.

last wash before putting her up for the winter a week ago

I assume your seat backs are the original type and not the ABS replacement type?

I'm not sure, how to tell the difference?

yours are replacements, originals are molded in color and not vinyl covered.
