Hurst shifter install
I think people are missing the point. Its next to impossible in some applications to get the pin in.
So what you do ( if you watched my video ) is simply align the outer curve of the gates with the body. Look in this video how the bends of the gates align with the body. You don't need the tool to align the Hurst, you just need a visual to make sure all the gates on the outside are in line.

I installed it from the top, with the two mounting bolts already slid into the shifter.
The top mounting bolt would not clear the opening in the floor.
I had to pry on the fiberglass a bit to get the top bolt past the edge of the opening. Once I got it past that point, the rest of the install was easy.
What a difference! Wow!
I love the feel of that hurst shifter; short throw, crisp solid shifts.
Yes it is harder to shift, but not significantly so.
Today was the first day that I really enjoyed running through the gears.
And now neutral is where it needs to be as well.
That is one more item off of the repair list.
I am still waiting on a call back from the local guy that can work on the rear end.

hurst.
