If you look at the backside, there is the "fourth" lug cut off. Look at this photo of an original.

I'd bet it is a modified passenger car relay.

They might still sell reproduction/look alike 886 powerglide relays for 53-54 6 volt cars.

Take a passenger car relay. Cut off one lug. If you take the cover off, I'll bet you find a heavy 10G--12G wire soldered between two terminals...
