If you do use hookers and don't get the coated one you must sand off the paint that comes on them and repaint. Also you have to loosen the steering stop and move it out of the way on the drivers side. put mine in without a scratch. if you using a canister oil filter they mite not work. I'm using an adapter and shorty filter and its close.
I know that Corvette Central (makes their own repo factory pattern pipes) offer packages with headers. I don't know if they make their own or use someone else's. I always thought that if I were ever to switch to headers on the 57 I would ask them if they are designed to fit the original manifold exhaust pipe or if I would have to cut and re-flange it? That would be important to me in case I want to switch back at some time to my 2 1/2" exhaust manifolds.

good thought, ours is going to be more of a hotrod then a resto.. but I totally understand what you thinking..thanks troy
Another thought regarding switching back and forth from headers to manifolds might be the shorty or block hugger headers as they may be closer to where the exhaust manifolds mate to the exhaust pipe.

Don't know what size engine you have, but Hooker makes 2 sets that will fit 58-62 Corvette. 2456 has 1 5/8 tubes, and 2108 has 1 3/4. Both have 3" collector boxes. If you have a smallish engine, the former might work better for you. Race type motors will benefit from the latter.
And as PTJSK said, Doug's D315 headers are a really nice product. They might work even better with a small motor, as they have 2 1/2" collectors.
