Free 1958 Corvette: Paperwork for a couple cars that were in the first 100 cars in produced. I have paper work for a couple cars owned by a family member from new and in the 60's that would be nice for one of the present owners to have. These are free if you prove ownership. Send me an email with the last three digits of your VIN and a way to contact you, and I will get back to you and let you know if I have it. Hopefully we can get these matched up with the cars they belong to. Thanks! You can email me at mustangles2@hotmail.com
Out of curiosity, have you checked the C1Registry to see if either of the VIN's are listed there? You can get there by using www.c1registry.com then go to Registry, 1958 and you will find a list by VIN of cars that owners have volunteered to register their information. You might get lucky. From my count, there are 13 cars listed with VIN# less than 100. Good luck to all and thanks for offering up this great original documentation.
I’ll move your thread from Cars For Sale to General. Also, we have a Sticky thread at the top of that page exactly for situations like this, called the ORPHAN VIN stamped Parts and docs thread, set up to reunite these items with the Cars, if you want to post there.
It would also help if you just post the vin number so if anyone does a google type search of that vin number this thread would show up in the search findings
Thanks everyone for replying to the thread. I did look at the C1 registry and the cars aren't listed. Car #20 was just found last year in a barn! Very exciting. I wish it was as easy as posting the VIN's but there are so many scammers out there it's better so a colleague vette owner to contact me. There are only at most 100 potential owners out there so it's just a matter of finding them. I just want to make sure this stuff gets reunited. I was hoping I would get some help from NCRS but they want $300 to search their records for a specific car. I was disappointed in that. Any other suggestions are much appreciated !!!!
I assume that you have also googled the VIN numbers you are searching for? I would think that if you found the owners they would be willing to reimburse you the $300.....I know I certainly would. The gamble of course is if the NCRS well comes up dry, you are out the $300. I know, I have a death grip on the obvious. Wish there were other ways. Good luck.

Yea, I Googled the VINs ... no luck ... the problem is states have been reassigning VINs to 17 digits for over 20 years so the J58S------- VINs don't come up. I just can't believe NCRS would charge for looking in a book. Very disappointing. Keep on the look out if you see any low number cars .... Hopefully we can make a couple of people very happy. Thanks

Georgia adds zeros in front of the the original vin to come up to 17 digits, I feel that other states do the same thing.

Not knowing if you are a NCRS member, you might want to reach out to the National Judging Team leader for '58-60 corvettes. He has seen and restored his share of '58's over the years and might have some ideas. PM me if you need his name and contact information.
