Default Radiator Support Question

I recently bought a '65 that has had front end damage that appears to have been repaired many years ago. The radiator support that is in it now is not original. It has a curved top, but the VIN is too early for it to have been a big block car.

I have searched the forum looking for the difference between the '65 big block and '66-7 small block radiator supports and the consensus is that the big block support has a larger opening for the radiator. Nobody has given any dimensions.

Does anyone have those dimensions? I'd hate to buy a small block radiator when the support is for the big block radiator or vice versa.
Thanks!

If the radiator support has a curved top and is straight up and down in the engine compartment it’s probably a 65 big block radiator support. When I go out to my garage I’ll measure the opening. 66 67 supports sit in at an angle 63 to 65 or straight up and down. If you can post a photo.

Corvette Central has some excellent photos for a visual reference:

The opening in the support on my 65 L78 is 24.75" wide & 16" high.

Thanks! Mine is 22.5" wide, so I assume it's a later ('66-'67) small block radiator support.

Gerry
That's a small-block rad support - you can tell by the lower radiator mounting pins.

[QUOTE=JohnZ;1596464513]That's a small-block rad support - you can tell by the lower radiator mounting pins. That is a 66 67 small block radiator support. 65 big block radiator and support also has the two pins on the bottom of the radiator.

True, but the pin spacing on the L-78 radiator and support is wider than the pin spacing for the small-block radiator.
