Dash Replacement or Patching

Our car was a no radio ordered car, but way back in the day one was cut in. Would eventually like to just have a blank dash, as it is supposed to be. With none of the other ignition shielding, side exhaust and 4.11's on the freeway, any radio is pretty much useless anyway.
Will be asking a number of other questions as we get more into the project of getting our Dad's car back to the way it should be. Thank you in advance for the help and suggestions.
No worse than a metal dash....I've patched a few of those where somebody had carved out a big slot for over-sized aftermarket radios...

I would say, yes it can be patched, but I would guess that requires pulling the entire dash and disassembling it completely to get to the metal and having a good body man take it.
