A while back there was a discussion on her where I posted my registration renewal for what I thought was our '67 Coupe. Earlier the DMV allowed me to switch the license plate off our C7 to our '67 Coupe when I sold the C7. I fessed up to posting the right plate number but wrong car in the renewal. Some dismissed my claim that we would be paying high registration renewals after January 1st thanks to Gov Jerry Brown.
Well, I got the renewal today. Here it is. $518.00. I'm just curious if anyone else in any other state is paying this much annually for a C1 or C2. Good weather comes at a cost.

Just renewed my 67 on Jan 25th - $133.00.
No custom plates on mine, original to the car black plates since 67.
What declared value did you report when you bought it..... The fee is based on value at the time first registered to the current owner.
Mine was $1800.00 in 1971......

Texas, running year of manufacture plates, 1967. Just got a renewal--$64 with no inspection and good till 2023. Limited on driving if they even care. I limit my own driving between it and the 69, 27T, and 5 ton m923A2. Of coarse I have a daily driver.

Wow I dont think I can live in California they Tax you to death!
Well, way things have been going in California these days.. I have a buddy that's lives in Orange County that is desperately trying to leave Ca. with property taxes rising.. He ready to "get out"....Problem is he cant find a person to buy his house with taxes being the way they are...So, he stuck for now...I think its only going to get worse before it ever gets any better..
He was in San Francisco when a light pole fell on his car and destroyed it..
The light pole was all rotten due to the homeless pi$$ing on it for years.. The city has a lot of red tape and insurance company trying to get the city to pay for it.. GOOD LUCK

My '67 Nevada renewal cost me a total of $60 last August. That included an additional $10 for a special plate. No smog or safety check required. The "Gov Svcs Tax" of $16 was deductible on my Federal return - no state income tax either. And people ask me why I retired to Nevada?

I think mine in Indiana is like 45-50 bucks a year. If I lived in CA I would tell mr brown to shove it. That’s ridiculous for 51 yr old car.

Was it less before you did the plate transfer deal?

We have antique tags in good ole Misissippi. They're permanent and there's no renewal fee.

My '67' is due the 18th of this month. Total due is $182.00. I think it went up about $50 this year thanks to you know who. I hope they get that gas tax/registration hikes reversed and on the ballot this year. Heard they got enough signatures to do so. Problem is, regardless of what the politicians say about infrastructure and all, this extra revenue seems to disappear and nothing ever seems to get done. "Randy G", I would question the DMV on that amount. Even with the fee hike, it don't look right. Keep us posted.

My CA invoice just came in the mail for my 63'. The total fees went up about $50, to about $160 for the year. This includes the vanity plate fee and black and yellow plate renewal.
Something seems odd with the OP fees. I cannot read the photo to see the major cost component. The reason could be the tax liability based on the purchase price if you recently paid a hefty price for the C2. If they transferred the ample cost of the C7 to a low cost C2 record it would explain the mixup and high fee.
