Just an update on my project.. and some tips for others I have learned.
I actually had emergency surgery 3 weeks ago for an abdominal blockage.. that set me back a bit (!), but I'm recovering and back at it now.
The felts/fuzzies are a real pain-in-the-***! The repop fuzzies make things pretty challenging. The end of the tube (that slides over the channel tube) is not deep enough.. there is interference. You really need to hack them up to get things to sit right. I'll post photos later.
I've got the driver's side back together.. working on passenger side today.
Another interesting thing: My car never had felt in the rear channel. There was NO TRACE of anything ever there.. so when I reassembled things, I did not use the felt there. Sure enough, the window is plenty tight just from the fuzzies... no movement/rattle at all.

The fix for that is to go to Jo-Ann fabrics and get some black felt - cut it to size and glue it into the glass channel. The reproduction glass channel liners are too thick - the black felt works just like the original material (which was designed for use with a metal-framed window) which isn't made any more.
