Help with evaluating '64

It's been posted since 8/15/2017 on "usedcorvettesforsale" so that might also tell you something about what you're not seeing in the pictures and video.

I didn't see this in any of the other posts, but, all 4 of my 64's tail lights are red. This had back up lights. I'm no expert, maybe some 64's came with back up lights.

I have looked at now 3 C2s at the Gateway location in Orlando. All look ok in pics but in person all are a skip. Not terrible but not near their list prices. As said it is consignment cars and there is cars there that are good but I'm finding all the vettes have been high on pricing for so so cars. They always have several C1s and 2s but pricing is optimistic. You need someone to take a look in person. Just from the comments here its a skip. You can certainly find a good 64 in your price range with this one.

As a rule, stay away from dealers and try and source your car from a private party. Not fool proof but the odds are in your favor. Do as dahogan suggests and do your homework and ask for as much data as you can on the car in question.
Pay up for quality; it will save you a lot of money in the long run.

Hope springs eternal I guess. Every so often - two months ago was the latest, I see a car at one of the Florida resellers and go to check it out. I am invariably disappointed.
Cleverly staged digital pictures and cagey narratives cover up a lot of sins...
"Just Toys" in Orlando does seem to have a bit of higher quality but they don't often have the muscle cars that interest me, when they do, the prices are high.. Before they took my 61 on consignment they put it on a lift and test drove it with me. They asked if there were any issues they needed to address (either fix or put in the ad) which kind of impressed me. The car was well cared for and finally sold through them.

Thanks all. I've decided to take your advice and pass on this '64. I'll wait 'till a less suspicious, driver quality, C2, 4 spd coupe appears or the market. I'll monitor this site for possible candidates. If anyone catches a whiff of one that is in the $50Kish range, please let me know.

Good luck with the hunt, the struggle is real, everyone here knows it for sure !
I found both my 64's through a long and painful waiting game and when they come up you don't get a lot of time to act. I used the info on this forum though to make good decisions quickly when the time came (don't be afraid to pull a glove box and check the bird cage, get a camera scope to check the kickups etc).
The consignment operators slow that process down by lifting the price high. Its really tempting to end the wait by just overpaying for an average car, but resisting the temptation is worth it in the long run !

After a 2-1/2 year hunt for a split window and one bought right out from under me a forum member sold me one of his two out of the blue...
