Default RockAuto Carpet

I'm looking into buying my carpet, for my 65, from RockAuto. Anyone ever used their Mass Backing carpet? If so, is it worth the price difference? I've already put in one later of EZ Cool Heat Barrier and was wondering if the carpet would be to thick.

Thanks,
Dex

It is. I don't know much about the difference between their standard carpet and the mass backing carpet....other than it states the mass backing is for heat and sound deafening.

Thanks,
Dex.

I would think there mass backing is there version of what the factory used. Which ACC uses the same stuff that you use for household carpet

Got it. If it's really not worth the extra expense, I'll put another layer of EZ Cool down as planned.

Thanks,
Dex.

FWIW, I used the Rock Auto carpet without insulation, but bought the insulation from Zip, the job came out nice, but took a little time, the car looks like it came from the factory. If you have never installed carpet in a C2, go to a trim shop & pay the money for them to do the job, it'll be money well spent.

Installed carpet from Rockauto a couple of months ago , it came from ACC i chose the 80-20 loop to look like what came from factory.

I did not get there padding i bought some similar pad from Home Depot that had foil on one side and just cut it to match old pad .

They offer other carpet just depends on what your looking for was happy with what i got looks original .

You can see the foil in one picture it is about what they sell minus the foil just another option on padding.

Shadows on carpet are from my camera .

I used my own barrier i.e. alum backing but went with their upgrade on the carpet. The number of the one that I bought is 1001 it is really plush but is not the 80/20 loop ask for a sample and then make your choice. Hope that helps.

I disagree. I think most everyone on this forum is capable of installing carpet in a C2. Not difficult if you just take your time. Lots of threads with helpful hints.

Thanks everyone for the inputs. I definitely plan on doing my own carpet. I just wasn't sure if the extra mass backing would be of any benefit since I'm already installing some heat barrier. Here's a picture of the EZ Cool I'm installing. Debating on a second layer.

You should really put some on the wheel well to help the noise.
