Default Motor # Decoding Help

I have a 1959 Corvette that has the following #s on the 283:
Block Code:3756519
Date:G279
Stamp Pad:F0221R

The block Code and Date look like they would match up for July 27 1959 Corvette, but the Stamp Pad looks like Flint Feb 21 and everything thing I see online says R is for a 1962 327. Can anyone fill me in on what I am looking at?

The "R" suffix code had a number of applications.

Besides the 62 327/250, it was also the code for 63 and 64 327/250, a 57 283/160 in a truck, and a 58-59 truck 283/175.

The "519" block was used from 58-62 for 283's in both cars and trucks.

Based on the casting date, I'd say that it's a 283/175 out of a 1959 Chevrolet truck of some sort. I can't explain the spread in the dates though.
