I had a thread going last night and got some good advice. I used it today to solve some of my issues however I am left with this problem I will try and send pics. I have followed the tips and got the lower channel adjust right as well as the 2 stops on top of door.when I roll The window up it has an even gap about 1 inch from top when I finish rolling it up the back of glass kicks up and hits the top in the rear and 1 inch gap in front I hope to get pics loaded Thanks,Mike
unless you run out of travel, or something inside the door is blocked, in the internal mechanisms, then the only other thing to stop the window going up is the stops.
what happens when you move the stops out of the way and roll the window all the way up (pull it up with your hands if you have to)?
if it still stops, look inside the door to see what is amiss...
Still sounds to me like you have some work to do on the stops still...
Also make sure that the glass/frame are completely set down (bedded) in the rail that holds the rollers...

I hate to keep bothering you guys but I have no other source of info, no clubs, no buddys with vettes, I found the ( front stop was all the way up) so I took it out, when the back stop hits the window going up it just pushs thru it. I thought it would stop back of glass and allow front to **** up into place the other thing I found was a great deal of play in regulator is it possible with that much play the gear would bottom out and not push glass all the way up ? Thanks again,Mike
If you REMOVE both stops (as once suggested) and the glass is properly 'bedded' in the roller bar and roll the window up and it still leaves a gap at the top it could well be a faulty or incorrectly assembled regulator. How much do you have to turn the handle to get it to engage from a down position to an up position (e.g. the slop)?
If you mess with disassembling that regulator be damned careful - they have a big, dangerous coiled spring on them.
It could have worn teeth or be improperly assembled. You could also disconnect the regulator by removing the rollers from the horizontal track and let it collapse and scissor down to the door bottom and push the window up from the bottom by hand through the door opening and see if something is binding..
Although I don't see how it could cause this particular problem it won't hurt to look closely at the rear vertical track for the window...the one held in by the two big screws at the rear of the door. There is a felt liner in this track that can tear or ball up and cause issues - a classic problem on these cars.
Finally, put your location in your profile where it can be seen - somebody nearby that you don't even know about could provide on-site help...
Also make darn sure the window garnish 'tubing' at the front of the door at the door post isn't grabbing the glass and pinching it (see picture)...

. Didn't pay attention when I put doors together but the regulator handle from start to stop turns about 2/3 inches measured at **** ( FREEPLAY) I will check everything you suggested

That's not exactly "tight" but its not exactly awful either.
Don't feel bad about this.
Do you know the part of the 61 Assembly Instruction Manual that has the MOST pages devoted to it ?
The DOORS (which windows are a part of)....they're complicated.
Disconnecting the regulator as suggested above takes that off the table as a problem, or, confirms it as the problem depending on what happens..
