Default 1956 - 1957 heat riser comparison

A question has come up about original 1956 heat risers vs. cut down 1957 heat risers being sold as 1956 heat risers.

Here is a comparison so all can tell the difference.

You'd be hard pressed to find a "real" '56 three hole heat riser wouldn't you? I think it'd be a very rare bird.

I have owned two of them, one was NOS. I recently gave it to another 56 enthusiast.

They show up every so often on Ebay. The NOS one I bought on Ebay was mis-identified, so it was cheap.

But, yes, they are hard to come by. The break easily under normal use.
