Guys,
I am putting my dash back in after wiring and Vintage Air install. I have the factory manual so I think i got it...other than the bolts/washers across the top, the rivets on each door area, and some sort of adhesive at the trans tunnel...what else? Any tips? I don't have new pads yet, will they be too tough to install if the dash is already in?
I would wait until you have new dash pads before installing the dash.
Thanks guys. I will just put it in with a couple bolts temporarily to ensure I have all the gauge cluster wiring right...then when i get the pads, i will put it in permanently....

Some put the dash in and then the wiring. that way you can completely wire the cluster before you install. I think the factory did it this way.
I am in the same boat right now. I have my dash out to dye my dash and pads. I am going to re-install the dash without the wiring, then install the cluster and harness together.

I agree with the group, just finished installing my dash and cluster last week, one thing I want to mention is after I put the dash in I checked to make sure the console side screws would line up with the brackets, they did not, so I had to adjust the lower part of the dash a little so the console could move forward a 1/4 in. before final gluing and screwing in place, just check before gluing the lower section.

On most midyears you don't even need to glue the center waterfall - the horseshoe molding will hold it in just fine. And I don't care what anybody has said or done....installing dash pads is 10X easier with the dash OUT of the car...

been there .. done that 100% right
pads first, radio speaker - make sure all don't rattle then cluster.. horseshoe console holds all down when installed properly
