Welcome to the forum. It’s for a 1960, but what? October 5 59. October 7 assembly date. There should be another letter after the D. DG, DH or DJ. If it’s just the D, it’s an over the counter block that wasn’t installed on the assembly line.

What car do D codes go in? Im trying to figure all this stuff out. I like old school engines and love to learn how to decode them. I also got a 870 327 F0305YA with date code C35
Your 519 engine was a production engine and was not an over the counter block.
The "D" suffix for a 1960 model production engine was a 283, 170hp, 2bbl, powerglide for a 1960 Chevrolet passenger car (Biscayne, Impala, Brookwood, Parkwood, Kingswood, Nomad, El Camino).
