We are all old car guys our we wouldn't be on this forum.
Some drive or trailer their cars to car shows a few times in the summer. Others get out and just drive them and enjoy that feeling.
Then there are others who, like me, that change the cars looks or running gear and also drive to car shows, out to the coast or up to the mountains and put miles on these old girls.
I too enjoy sitting in my garage and just enjoy looking at my old girls but when the sun comes out I rotate my three girls and give each one a weeks worth of exercise. I enjoy the sound, the feeling and all the waves i get driving thru town. Then there's the lady in the Albertsons parking lot who when her son said "mom whats that little car?" And she said "son that's a REAL Mini"
IMO any appraisal underwritten by the car’s owner is “tainted”. It’s like an owner telling me his car is worth more than market value because he has $75k in receipts. Save your money.
most appraisal are written based on what similar cars sols for. with your car your not going to find a similar car so there is no market value. dind't you just buy the car? if so its worth what you paid for. and I know you already listed it on ebay
That eBay car is an automatic and no where close in condition to 19’s. If you don’t mind, why are you thinking of selling so soon?
The car is unbelievable condition. I brought it home and it has not left the driveway. I have had a few friends look at it and they all say “ you know you can’t drive this”. It makes me nervous that i could be the first to put a scratch on it. I know crazy but i now see what the previous owner of 44 years was up against. He turned into a 803 mile caretaker. The car needs to be put in a collection not my 2 1/2 car garage.
I chased this beautiful car for 7 years and now that i have it I couldn’t be prouder of it! I sit in the garage and stare at it and ponder keep it or get it into a good home with a lot of space.
NWM, you have been full of knowledge, and no doubt know these cars inn and out, but that car isn’t even the same caliber as the 67. And mine needs nothing and has a gas cap! LOL
sorry that I got your car confused with an anther. I know full well what you mean that your afraid to drive it. its never a good feeling when your trying to enjoy the car but at the same time worried about everything that can go wrong. but in all honestly what ever you paid for it the other month is all that its worth today. maybe you can add a few grand for your time and if you bought tires. but the next buyer doesnt care about your time and if your going to make money. they just want to buy the best car they can. your pool of buyers will be slim it will take a little bit of marketing on your part. but you can help your self by joining NCRS and get it top flighted. good luck.

Why dont you offer it back to the previous owner? He didn’t tire of it for 44 years, Im sure he wouldn’t mind a few more.
I agree with this. The previous owner must have felt very comfortable with you having the car and being the next caretaker of the car. You even commented on him looking back as the car was leaving. I am sure that if he had thought for a minute that you would be looking to sell the car so quickly he might have thought differently about selling you the car. It should not always be about the money and this is one of those times. The car should be offered back to the previous owner first and then if he declines sell it for what the market will bear.
I am sure the cars previous owner is not happy about selling you the car.
I just sold my 66 after 30 years of ownership just this past spring.
I needed to see the car go to a good home which it did. Sold the car to a forum member
and he is just thrilled.
It’s to bad you obviously didn’t think this through properly, and now have a case of buyer’s remorse.
Is it time to sell? I would say yes, because you will never love this car as it should be loved.
