Haven’t done much to the 61 in the last few days. Watched it in the back ground as I worked on another project. So far I’ve bored it .125” over, 3 angle valve job with slightly larger 1.600” Chevy valves, modified the oil system to full flow from the original partial flow where it filtered some oil at the end of the line. We are having the 4.000” stroke Mercury crank ground and balanced. Several other mods are in the works as time permits. I’ll be installing a 409 Chevy water pump, sbc harmonic damper and pulleys, AC compressor, power steering, and alternator. I'm going to fit modern one piece seals on the crank instead of the junk rope seals. This will be a pretty nice piece of eye candy when done.

I know it’s not a Corvette but at least I’m getting some Chevy parts in it.

Due to health issues for the last couple of years retirement is not going to be quite what I had planned for. So today I moved my c-1 out to the road and put a for sale in the window.

Default Hood Grill redo

Stripped and repainted the d/s hood grill on my 63. Cleaned her up and took her to the show where " Just Plain Wacky" won "Best in show".

And I'm damned glad you did !!!

I was all set to tackle it solo but when I told the wife you had offered to do it; she said, "....are you nuts, get the car the hell over to Mark!"

She's watched me work on cars for 50 years and knows it ain't pretty...what with the blood and the cursing and tools thrown across the garage....

Have a few years before retirement .... perhaps after I get the kids though college. In the meantime, will continue to enjoy the Restomod.

I put in an electric fuel pump under the tank on the 63 to fend off the vapor lock from Orlando summer heat.....its supposed to work well but the little SOB is noisy. Operated via side panel push button switch...

Interesting what is the Pressure of that pump I see you cushion the pump thru the tank any vibration to cockpit

The pump is the Sundely 12V 4-6 psi pump.... After comparing to a bunch of small, low pressure pumps this one had the longest expected life and appropriate pressure and would fit where I wanted it -- Amazon has them...

No vibration, but with the key on and engine not running you sure hear it... Of course, that might be lessened when I get the spare tire tub installed again...

If the sound is bothersome maybe encapsulate the pump with some marine grade sound proofing material.

Previously, I stripped everything to bare glass and removed the flares. Yesterday I shot everything with 3 coats of epoxy primer. Taking today off to rest my weary bones before the real work starts.

Did you use "flare repair" panels or full quarters? Got any progress pictures of the repairs? Thanks

Oh Geez now, would you look at that … It's like as if the Mona Lisa's wheels came off with a coupla' whacks of a lead hamma …
