It seemed like every stoplight I came to the idle was it a different place somewhere between 750 and 1000. Also when sitting at a stoplight with the AC on the temperature would climb above 180 moving the needle steadily. Not a real concern, but I wanted to try it after reading JohnZ's paper. The idle is much more consistent and seems to come off idle with no hesitation. I won't know about the temperature until I drive it more.

Interesting I have no AC however I do have a hunting idle issue and when I mean hunting its doing something similar to yours , I never seem to have a consistent idle whether its 800 or 1000, the off idle response is an issue as well. its a 327/365.

Very cool - and you are blessed to still have him at 94!

I felt/feel the same about my Dad but lost him 4 years ago at 89, so they were of the same “vintage”!

He had a stroke at 88 and 6 months before he had the stroke he had just sold his business. He had washers and dryers in a number of rental buildings in the northern Va area. He decided to sell it because it was getting too hard on his knees going up and down stairs to collect the quarters from the machines. So he gets along these days pretty well but has to use a walker and doesn’t want to leave the house. So when he needs to go to the doctor like he had to a few months ago to get skin cancer off his cheek, I come down from Ohio to help him.

i try to come and see him at least once a month. It’s a 425 mile trip and is really only ugly when the cold weather arrives and there is snow on the Somerset portion of the Pa. turnpike, it is at upper elevations so I try to avoid it by flying down instead.

He is the last of 3 males and 4 females in his family. He outlived his younger brother and his older was shot down in WWII piloting a B25 bomber. He died going down in the North Sea. His oldest sister died when she was 100 and his goal is to outlive her! My sister died 14 years ago and so there is just me. He lives with his “girlfriend” and she does the best she can to take care of him...she is now 88.

I do consider myself very lucky to have him as I know there are others who have had their fathers go ahead to the garage in heaven. I figure I will meet up with him there someday.....

I had lunch with some old friends and some new friends at a pal's shop.....out in the Florida back country.
...
The host puts out a free spread every Friday and is big into Tri-5 Chevys.....most bring a dish to share...
Got to see a completely rebuilt original "409" engine, freshly done and delivered to the shop in an attendees pick up truck...

One of the guys is selling a 1959 Corvette complete fuel injection system on eBay if anybody needs one.

I was supposed to look over an original, survivor red split window 300hp car for a friend after the lunch but the owner had a family emergency. I've known the car for about 9 years but never examined it closely...

You are very lucky to have him, cherish the time you have together. I lost my 89 year old Father last year. I could not have asked for a better Dad. I really miss him.

Spending a couple of weeks helping daughter and son in law move to florida with my 2 year old granddaughter. Got to shop boat brokers so may bring boat to florida. We really enjoy it here but must get back to Texas to help my father and father in law. Both are in their 80's and now require some help. Retirement allows for travel with no schedule other than our parents needs. Miss the 67 but we will get to enjoy it when we return home. Father in law wants a ride and I will make that happen. We are blessed.

Worked on the C2 yesterday. It has a VBP front suspension and had to replace the poly bushings and pads, went back with rubber. Trying to readjust ride height is my next challenge.

Filling in the rear area that was cut out to tub the car and make clearance for the SRIII chassis.....slow but sure on this project.....past weekend got the drivers door populated with all the necessary parts. After getting the rear fiberglass in place then onto the passenger door.

I'm bolting a Ford 9 inch in my 60.
Need to finish up the brakes and put a driveshaft in it for a test ride. Hoping to go drag racing Sunday.
