My first day retired. Went fly fishing during the day and got to take her for a ride in the evening. Life is good

C2 of Year Finalist (track prepared) 2019
I'm jealous.
My bride and I were going to go cruising in our '63 roadster today. But when I turned the key...... nothing.
Some bozo who actually knows better (me) had turned the key to the ACC position and then pulled the key out without checking the switch position. Result, dead battery.
So, we didn't go out.

Recuperating from 7 day Caribbean cruise. Will start soaking 63s rear suspension in PB-Blaster tomorrow to prep for trailing arm overhaul.

Congrats on retirement. Going to talk to the pension folks tomorrow. Hopefully I can retire in August, December at the latest. Wife says I still have to find another job for 10 years though till she retires.

We drove to a couple local wineries to pick up our club shipments. It’s great to be retired and able to do that on a weekday so as to avoid the weekend crowds!
If I wanted to brag about what I did on my summer vacation I would post it up in OT - where that kind of stuff belongs....

You think when everything is in writing its pretty cut and dried. But I just got a letter from the people I retired from and they sold my pension to an insurance company. Basically said we are no longer responsible for anything we promised and it was nice knowing you.

I've been retired three years now and have a C1 and a C2, so this is my M.O. Each day I walk around both cars at least once a day and look all over to see what I could do that would make them look better or work better. Then I spend anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour, more if I'm inspired, doing some little something to them. It doesn't seem like much at the time, but after 6 months, you've really got a lot done. Some days it may be as simple as dust then off, or check the oil, clean the wheels. Other days, I may take off some part and clean it up or paint it. It all adds up.

I once asked my mother how long it took for her to get used to retirement after her civil service job. She said her last work day was Friday and she was used to it by Monday. It's been the same for me. ..... No playing with the Corvette for several weeks as the DOT has torn up the roads around my home. So I've been spending lots of time on the pontoon boat.

Been retired since 2013 and it seems I'm more busy working since I retired . Have been working on restoring my 57 corvette since November almost every day starting at 6 or 7 am . It's debatable to say that I am retired .
