Maybe I'm the only one but I wish we could post ot items here. We have such a wealth of knowledge here. I don't go to any other sections and as far as I'm concerned when something here gets exiled to ot I never see it again because I'm not familiar with whomever may be commenting and I just don't go there. I don't personally know many here but I do respect many of your opinions. When you have doctors, lawyers, dentists, Ph.D. authors, machinists, mechanics, and so on that's a lot to draw from. Alas just another of my hair brained ideas.

Add to that the fact that the OT area of Corvette Forum is sort of like the wild west. It really is not for the thin skinned.
Perhaps we could have a C1-C2-OT section of the forum?
I think it's a bad idea myself. Love of these old corvettes is what we have in common. That's what brings us here. We are all very different people in the "real world", and when it creeps in here, it usually goes south quickly!
IMHO this forum is fine the way it is. While the OT section has a lot of juvenile and warped blather, it also has a wealth of very knowledgeable people on ANY topic you may name. I have asked questions about drainage, my F150, animals, travel, tools, guns and dozens more topics I can't think of now. I never fail to get thoughtful, helpful advice.
Off Topic section is like eating a lobster - parts of it are great, but there is a lot you have to sort through and throw away. The important key to OT is have a thick skin. Your post may - and probably WILL - attract a few wise-*** remarks. Any show of butt-hurt or resentment is like blood to piranhas. Just ignore and don't respond to anything which does not address your question, and you'll do fine.
I'd rather keep this section for C-1 and C-2 stuff, at least that's my vote.

This suggestion has been brought up in the past, however there has also been the suggestion that we offer too many OT topics here now.
We acknowledge that the group here is smaller and often enjoy chatting about some topics that would be considered off topic, and that many don’t want to venture into the Off Topic section (its not that bad). For that reason, we have been lenient with many threads that seem OT when they appear to be participated in by the membership. Others that seem too far off the mark get moved, or those that don’t seem to gain much interest.
Yes, it’s a case by case judgement call by the staff, but the alternative to that is to go back to the days of moving all OT threads, which doesnt seem
to be the solution.
Regarding this thread, though, a further expansion of OT categories or thread inclusion is not likely at this time.
