I've installed Edelbrock's Pro-Flo 4 4150-style kit in my '63, though I have not started it up quite yet as I am still in the wiring phase. I mounted the ECU, fuse & relay in a custom aluminum glove box to keep it all out of the engine compartment, as well as to be in closer proximity to my Dakota Digital control box. Dakota offers a module (BIM) that will communicate with the Edelbrock ECU thru its CAN bus to display some of the engine data on the instrument cluster. For fuel supply, I used the Holley 12-310 in-tank pump that is a direct fit and internally regulated, so no tank mods or return line needed. I upgraded the steel fuel line to stainless, and am using Earls Vapor Guard EFI hose, fittings & clamps to plumb it all together.
Doing an efi tech tune port on my 65. Didn’t want the LS everybody else seems to want, figured I try something different although they are great. I didn’t want an efi carb style I wanted it as true as possible. I will let you know how it goes. Hopefully done in a couple weeks. I did the vintage air ,March serpentine,Bormann hydraulic clutch that bolts to the z bar not firewall, and other small stuff at the same time so it’s taking a little longer. Little worried 😦 n the fly by wire a.c. Which used the original controls but love the vintage look
I’m running a Pro Flow 4 on my BB. The car starts up immediately, runs great and pulls hard. I only have a couple hundred miles on it so far. No complaints, nothing but compliments so far.
I went with a throttle rod and the stock peddle. It works well. However, the “tinkerer” in me is interested in seeing a good example of a cable throttle set up 😀.
The air cleaner is 2 5/8” tall. That gives me 1/2” clearance from the installed wing nut to the hood (66 BB hood).
The ECU is mounted to the firewall, tucked up under the passenger side fender. It is not visible from the top side.
I hope you really enjoy your Proflow EFI. From a performance standpoint, I think it’s hard to beat.It really woke my engine up.
The in tank fuel pump is the only way to go. It’s quiet and should last as long as the car. I really don’t see any other option if you do this correctly.
Does anyone know if there is a vendor that makes a bolt in solution for an in tank EFI pump for older Corvettes?
Oh and that is one badass engine CB!
I bought my fuel tank from Zip Corvette. It has the fuel pump in it and the fuel return line and its the same size as my original tank.
