My wife and I only watch the old shows from the 50's and 60's. We NEVER watch any of the new, modern, fare on TV. She likes the old westerns (Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Wagon Train, Lone Ranger). Recently, we've been binge-watching Cheers. We're up to the 200th anniversary show so far. We dropped cable and are streaming now and can get some REALLY old stuff (Topper, Our Miss Brooks, The Cisco Kid, Zorro, and even Amos 'n Andy). I also like to watch Twilight Zone.
I also think the ladies in the old shows are pretty cool. My first TV love was Princess Winterfall Summerspring. How many of you remember her (without looking it up)?
Anyone remember Winky Dink and You. Earliest show I can remember. What a marketing bonanza that was. If you didn't buy your kids the Winky Dink kit, they would write with crayons all over your TV screen.

Hoody Doody...I did have the hots for her...& I was only 5 or 6 years old. I am not talking about the dummy
Perry Mason came on at 9:00 pm in the Los Angeles area back in the day. My wife records and watches it now on ME TV. Every time the opening music starts to play I told her I can still hear my dad yell "BED TIME!" Same with 77 Sunset Strip when they were playing reruns a few years ago. BTW, one of the guys on that show was driving a '58 Corvette.
Ol. Pop quiz. Show that had the phrase, “ pluck your magic twanger Froggy!” I think I got that right.
Always heard it as “plunk” instead of “pluck”. Regardless, watched Andy Devine and was part of Andy’s Gang. Also watched Crusader Rabbit with Ragland T Tiger (who loved jelly beans more than Reagan). Felix the Cat, Courageous Cat and Minute Mouse, Mighty Mouse, Roger Ramjet, there’s plenty more if we can just remember. Remember the marrionette show Supercar? How about Amos and Andy?

That was about my age, too. I don’t remember the Princess’s real name but she was in Jail House Rock with Elvis. She died an untimely death in an automobile accident when she was in her 20’s.
Good memories - we had one of the first color TVs in our small Virginia Beach subdivision -- my Dad had traded it in on a car, buddies would come over to watch Bonanza on Sunday night along with Disney's Wonderful World of Color. Oddly, some of the old Superman and Lone Ranger episodes are in color (at least in reruns). The set was a Magnavox the size of a Buick; a massive piece of solid wood furniture. One night it caught fire and the living room curtains started to smoke. The fire department heaved the thing into the front yard and ran a hose straight into the back of it. No more color TV for about another two years for us.
Ah! Good times!
And one of my favorite shows was "Sky King" - seems if Penny got in trouble even a few blocks away it was an excuse to fly to the scene.
Something that weirded me out a bit recently was seeing Mark Wilson - who started TV stage magic in the 50s on a recent episode of a TV show running now, "Penn and Teller" -- the guy must be ancient and was still moving well and pulling of magic stunts...

She was waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay before Annette A generation before!
Watched Howdy Doody but didn’t remember this princess. Remember the show Son of the Beach (Howard Stern production) and the red headed Princess Firebush.
I watch Perry Mason most days. Things we noticed the hugh telecom on Perry's desk in 1st season. A lot of smoking everywhere, although never Della. They drink alot of liquor morning, noon, or night. Need change for the payphone. Pinky rings the soap ads in the credits at the end. The show was 57-66 a pretty good run. Seeing other stars in their first roles
That is the way women dressed back then on the street. Including the hair.
I'll go a step further. I wish auto manufacturers had the freedom to design cars like that (modern versions) instead of being hamstrung by gov regulations.
Working on the cars was the same, but the girls had more talent, and the music was good:

The Ventures was the first record album I ever bought. I didn't even have a player, I'd sneak into my sisters room and play it on her record player when she wasn't around...
Paul Drake put the cool in private eyes for me and that’s what I wanted to be when a grew up. Then I later realized it was actually the cars and the chicks that I craved. I must have watched that Elvis Presley movie with the Cobra a dozen times. I also saw most of the Bond movies (no, the real Bond, Sean Connery) in a movie theater.
The baby boomer generation actually started in 1946. The prior generation are Traditionalists. We have both on this forum.
